This season's collection is quite a tomboyish range, which makes the most of the French label's talent for layering. Denim, cord, heavy knits and lighter cotton feature in a variety of shirts, skirts, tunics, trousers, pullovers and short and longer line jackets, creating interesting layers for boys and girls. Oversized hats, scarves, bracers and leather belts complete the rugged look.

The French label has also launched a new line B this season, which takes on a more adult, creative feel.

Catimini

The collection continues its focus on bright colours, animals and flowers, with some great embroidery and appliqué. The range has adopted a slightly folksy feel, with small floral prints, embroidery, Peruvian-style smock dresses and blue towelling ponchos. This is also given a smarter edge, as velvet is mixed with pinstripes and Prince of Wales check.

This look is also prevalent in the boy's range, which is slightly more casual. T-shirts highlight the differences between City and Country and Western-style cowboy shirts and deerstalker caps favour the latter. A more sport and outdoorsy range with slogans like Play is also available in red and grey.

The naissance and layette ranges also produces two strong looks. The Lili boule rapido dark denim pieces with multi-coloured caterpillar detail is very sweet and the tonal cream boule de cotton selection with bunnies and flowers will please the more traditional tastes.

The label has also produced a more exclusive style range called Catimini Atelier. This range includes more detailed pieces with great fabrics and finishing, and a generally more subdued colour palette. Like the main collection it is available in two ranges, 3 months to 3 years and 2 years to 12 years.

Christian Lacroix

The French label takes three main themes for the new collection: Babushka, Pom Pom girl, and Rappeur-Trappeur.

The Pom-Pom theme consists of basic sporty materials updated with jewels, lace and graffiti. Velour hoodies, frilly skirts, puffa gilets and cropped denim jackets come in a range of grey marls and baby pinks, and of course are accessorized with the obligatory pom-poms.

Babushka takes a folksier slant, with heavy knits and denims featuring floral embroidery and velvet trims in reds and plums. The look imitates that of a Russian doll, as fine corduroy jackets are matched with full skirts and spirograph-style prints.

The third theme has a more traditional homestead feel, with embroidered and appliqué teddies, stars and hearts featuring on cardigans and little shirtdresses with unfinished stitching. The look is slightly updated with stripy tops with ruffles and lettering and chunky knits with zips and pocket detail.

IKKS

A casual, layered up look with an ethnic edge dominates the new autumn/winter collection for IKKS. For girls, peasant tops and ethnic-embroidered tees are matched with garments combining denim, cord and leather. Wrap skirts are also popular in combat material and Prince of Wales check with raw edges. Parkas and fake fur waistcoats and bags complete the look. Boys had a more casual style, with faded baggy jeans in pinstripe and herringbone denim and big chunky knits.

Miniman - Il Etait Une Fee

The collection takes on a bohemian feel with paisley prints, embroidered denim and sheepskin. Fine cord blazers, fine knits and denim pieces are enlivened by frills, puff sleeves, crochet and sequins. Cute cord hats and Dr Zhivago-style outerwear are also featured. The baby range maintains the same look and colours, but in downsized pieces.

Miniman

A typical boy's collection with great basics. Padded and towelling jackets are paired with sporty bottoms and fun tees with cute italic writing and little animals. The palette of red, white and blues suits the boyish collection
